This program is 32 hours in length and is designed for multiple DWI offenders and/or others who have alcohol/drug related problems for which the DWI Education Program was not designed to address. The program purpose is to intervene in the alcohol/drug abusing lifestyles of the individual in order to encourage entry into treatment where indicated as well as to prevent further substance abuse related problems.
The curriculum contains information on the following topics: lifestyle issues, values, self-esteem, positive thinking vs. irrational beliefs, responsibility, physiological/psychological effects of drugs, alcoholism, chemical dependency, how drug abuse effects family members, co-dependency, Al-Anon, treatment options, l2-Step Self-Help Groups, peer pressure, relapse prevention, problem solving and action planning.
The DWI Intervention/Repeat Offender program is taught over a 6-week period. This class is taught in English, no Spanish class is available. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday 2pm-5pm. You must attend both days (Saturday and Sunday) for 6 consecutive weekends. The dates of the 6 weekends you are about to register for are listed below. Once you register, you must attend these dates. AGAIN, THE ACTUAL DATES YOU ARE ABOUT TO REGISTER FOR ARE LISTED BELOW. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL DATES AGREE WITH YOUR SCHEDULE BEFORE REGISTERING BECAUSE YOU MUST ATTEND THE 6 WEEKENDS LISTED BELOW. The total cost is $250.00. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN
IMPORTANT: You are only allowed 2 missed class sessions over the entire 6-week course. If a session is missed, an individual make-up will be scheduled, and a $50.00 fee assessed.
